As a Māori owned business our mission is to help restore mana, dignity and opportunity. This service is more than skin-deep; it enables personal transformation, supports employment pathways and promotes healing for individuals and their whānau. Every treatment is delivered with manaaki, aroha and integrity. We work in partnership with outside agencies to be able to support clients on their journey. Across Aotearoa many individuals get tattoos during hardship, trauma, incarceration or gang involvement. These tattoos can often serve as a physical reminder of past pain and become barriers to employment, whānau, reconnection and self-worth. Whether it be individuals exiting gangs or prison, job seekers with visible tattoos, survivors of abuse with branding tattoos, cancer survivors with radiation tattoos, or a change of mind, we understand that your reasons for wanting to remove them are personal. "When I was given the opportunity to offer my services inside a prison, I jumped at the chance. With my policing background I was used to dealing with this sector of society. I initially thought that taking gang tattoos off wouldn’t happen until after the clients had left prison but was surprised when gang tattoos became the main type of tattoos removed. Some said there may be repercussions because of their decisions to remove the tattoos but they didn’t care. They were so motivated to have the tattoos removed and distance themselves from the gangs. To them tattoo removal is an outward display of their inward change, and I am happy to be a part of that change.

I find my job very rewarding especially when I see how much of an affect it has on their self esteem. I am now offering my services in Springhill, Waikeria, Hawke’s Bay, Manawatu, Whanganui, and Rimutaka prisons, and soon to be at Tongariro prison and interest from several others. Kūmarahou tea - supports detox from the inside out.

Rongoā helps people let go of what the tattoo represented supporting both the physical fading of ink and the emotional shift that often comes with it. In addition to standard tattoo removal, we also offer fading for cover-up tattoos and partial removal for specific areas. Our customised approach is designed to meet your individual needs.

Aftercare

We prioritize your comfort and care. Our aftercare support includes guidance on post-treatment care to promote optimal healing and results.

1. Keeping the area cool applying a cold pack if needed to reduce swelling.

2. Keep the area clean and dry.

3. Apply healing or soothing ointment e.g kawa kawa, aloe vera or benpanthum. Cover with a sterile gauze if needed.

4. Protect from sun exposure.

5. Stay hydrated and healthy to support overall wellness and to support skin regeneration.

AVOID Picking or scratching the area.Swimming, hot baths or saunas for 7 days after treatment.Make-up or scented products on the treated area.Tight clothing that may rub the skin.Intense workouts for 24-48 hours after trreatment.
